WE #6 Communication

Communication is a part of life. Communication is how everything is done, no matter if we are communicating by email, text, facebook, etc. In my opinion, I think the way one communicates is very important. One needs to communicate clearly and with proper word usage. One way I can improve in communication is by not using slang in my emails and text.

Bus Driver Sues School Over Being Fired Because of Facebook Status

A school bus driver named, Johnny Cook,  was fired by the Haralson County School District for his posts on Facebook. Mr. Cook overheard a student was hungry and that he was not able to get a .40 cent credit for lunch. Mr. Cook decided to post about the situation on Facebook to try and help the issue. Haralson County School District was not pleased with his post and gave him two options: Recant his Facebook post and publicly apologize or be terminated. Cook and the American Civil Liberties Union are suing the school to change district policies and to get his job back.

WE #4- Teamwork

I have never really liked working in a team, mainly because not all team members participate or help get the job done. However, I have recently realized how important teamwork is to get a task done. My job requires a lot of teamwork! Working as a team helps get a lot of things done on time and in the appropriate manner. One way I can improve in teamwork is by making sure I always play my part.

Work Ethic #3 - Respect

Respect means to accept others as they are. Treating people in a manner one would want to be treated. Respecting their feelings and opinions because it is the right thing to do. Receiving respect and showing respect encourages one to do better.

I usually am always respectful to others, but at times I find myself communicating with a person I would much rather not communicate with, and I hear myself being rude and negative. So I guess I can improve by maybe being more positive about the situation and trying my hardest to be considerate of their feelings.

Project 4.5.1 Question #1

What can I do with deleted files that have been sent to the Recycle Bin

When a file is deleted and sent to a computer's recycle bin. Two major things you can do in the Recycle Bin is restore a file that you deleted or completely empty the recycle bin. In the recycle bin, one can also view, sort, group and refresh files that have been deleted. The recycle bin also allows one to view the deleted files properties.

WE #2 Attendance

Attendance is important because that's how the world works. A person must show up on time to work, school, and appointments to get what needs to be done out the way. Attendance shows a lot about a person Showing up for work and being on time shows that one is committed to work and responsible for their duties. Never showing up and constantly being late shows one is not reliable and doesn't take their job serious. Lack of attendance affects all, not just one. When one doesn't show up for work, that's more work for the others workers and time wasted. At times, it is necessary to miss work so that's why it is best to let someone know about it so they can be aware just in case they might need a backup.

I can improve in attendance by getting to work on time. I am usually never late but at times I take a little longer than I intend to. Leaving my house 4 minutes later than normally makes a big difference because when I get on the road I am stuck behind a school bus and all other traffic and am usually about 10 minutes late to work.

Work Ethic #1

Character is who you are when no one is watching and how one reacts to a situation. Character is what makes people believe in one. A person with good character has worthy traits like: respect, honesty, fairness and responsibility. No one is born with character and a noble act does not determine a person’s character.

I believe I can improve in character by being more responsible. By doing what I am supposed to do, thinking before I react and considering the consequences.

I came across this saying on CITRS, which now motivates my character: When you cheat, your “success” is false. When you break a promise, you are showing that your word is meaningless. When you lie, you deceive others and lose their respect.
